I installed using apt-get, following these steps: https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/80/virtualization/virtualization/set-up-the-vm-series-firewall-on-kvm/install-kvm-and-open-vswitch-on-ubuntu-16-04-1-lts

but I am receiving the following output:

The JournalErrors.txt that Armin attached has several error messages trying to connect to the db socket:

/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock: connection attempt failed (No such file or directory)

Armin, are there any failure messages in /var/log/openvswitch/ovsdb-server.log?

The status of 'openvswitch-nonetwork.service' and its journal entries would be useful:

   sudo systemctl status openvswitch-nonetwork.service
   sudo journalctl -xe -u openvswitch-nonetwork.service

also any log data from /var/log/openvswitch/*
