It's under zesty

lxc-create -name jessie-armhf -t debian -- -a armhf -r jessie

while the same architecture under Ubuntu using zesty creates without errors.

Might be related to another bug that was marked invalid but I don't know how this differs from using the Ubuntu versus the Debian templates

Looks related to bug 1671990 but it's marked as invalid. However, I'm not running lxc-create inside another container. It is under qemu-user-static though.

Any help with this would be appreciated

We don't use those template scripts anymore and foreign architecture was never really supported in the first place (and indeed inconsistently between templates).
