Installer crashes on dell xps 13 2016 9350

When running the installer on new dell xps 13, I selected to wipe my drive completely and setup a new installation with logical volume management and it didn't work after getting through almost everything in the installation process.

I got an error window telling me that it failed because apt failed to install packages from the CD.
