Nautilus and Desktop unexpected behaviour

When I drag the cursor on the desktop there is some unexpected behaviour and the select marquee doesn't appear. This only happens sometimes.

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS.

What conditions are needed to reproduce this bug? I can't seem to reproduce it on Ubuntu 17.10.

I'm going to assume Fix Released, please change back to New if you can reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 18.04 or Cosmic.
