I received a small update to the german translation via the
debian BTS at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=314041
The changes don't interfere with the changes by this file,
so I upload a file with these changes merged.
Yeah, I'd just open a new item, and refer to this one here.
About the translation for "spoke", I think the most common
translation is "Ecke". "Zacke" is also okay, but less common
IMO. "Speiche" is certainly very awkward, so feel free to
change it.
Okay, I'm *really* out for the weekend now, have fun :)
I just submitted an updated de.po file as patch 1224028.
I incorporated the changes suggested in debian's BTS and his
later suggestions.Except that I didn't use "Spitzigkeit" for
Spoke ratio but "Spitzenverhältnis". I did this since the
text in the accompaniing hint uses these words and
"Verhältnis der Spitzen" is longer. I didn't want to
introduce a neologism, even if it is colourful.
I also changed the usage (gender) of "Bitmap" as in
"Auflösung des Bitmaps" to "Auflösung der Bitmap" since
the gnome team seems to use it in feminine form as
dict.leo.org suggests. The Duden doesn't know this word
but I think there must be better translation somehow.
I also changed "Punkt pro Zoll" to "Punkte pro Zoll" and
e.g. #: ../src/main.cpp:222
Sorry, this version had a small bug. Fixed now.
