Inkscape Uninstaller deleted other programs?

Bug Description

Its programmed horribly. I accidentally installed it under C:\Program
Files\, so I proceeded to uninstall it.

It ended up removing over half of my programs. My computer is now
essentially ruined, and I'm going to spend the next few hours trying to
restore it. Thanks a lot Inkscape, I'm never using you again. I advise that
you fix this problem before more people turn out like me.

I am sorry about this.
The uninstaller simply deletes everything below the installation
directory. Your report is similar to
1726320 Windows uninstall deletes user-created files
There is already a new uninstall script ready for 0.46. For this the
installer records all files written and only those will be deleted.

HTH,

Adib.

Wow. If this was indeed possible, and fixed now, this needs to be
mentioned in the release notes - Adib please add it to "notable bugfixes"

Oh, it happened, and its created quite a dilemma. I'm stuck using Ubuntu
now (because Windows doesn't seem to want to install), but luckily it seems
i'm getting used to Linux. My own mistake for accidentally choosing the
wrong folder, and not getting a restore cd beforehand (although i didn't
think i'd need one yet, just for installing Inkscape) but it still
happened. A rare occasion, and more then likely quite a few installers out
there have this same problem, but as I found the hard way, sometimes things
like this happen. :( I'm over it already, but please do fix it.

I have no confirmations from others how the new uninstaller works for them. For me on my German winXP it works so far.
Also it asks for each file that has been touched this is anoying there should also an option as yes for all and no for all.
I did not communicated this to the author of that script yet. I would leave this open for now.
