Bug Description

When I try to boot Ubunto Gnome 17.04, I a grey box of text for a period, for no clear reason, on Asus Z170 Pro desktop motherboard and whatever is in the Asus UX305CA laptop. This doesn't happen with windows 10 or Linux Mint 18.1, so it's Ubuntu Gnome related. Yes it happens every time. Video of the phenomenon below:

(Sorry that it's vertical, YouTube won't let me turn it without installing flash)

Please let me know if you have any questions or need me to test anything.

I tried watching the video but I didn't see anything at 0:53. Maybe just take a picture instead?

Ubuntu GNOME 17.04 uses a grey Plymouth boot screen.

It shows that instead of the gnome logo on boot up, occasionally showing the logo very briefly after the grey screen. An interesting feature is that the grey box appears to be a fixed pixel size across monitors; I don't know if that's helpful to you or not.
