Hi Robert,
thank you for reporting this.

Relevant error lines are:
170413 23:22:37 [ERROR] /usr/sbin/mysqld: unknown variable 'log-slow-queries=/var/log/mysql-slow-queries.log'
170413 23:22:37 [ERROR] Aborting

Can you verify where this variable is set?
$ sudo grep -r "log-slow-queries" /etc/mysql

Can you also explain us the steps that led to this?
