interface version mismatch: my version 25, provider version 26

When trying to bootstrap a Percona 5.5 cluster on Ubuntu Trusty 14.04 I get the following errors:

170411 10:25:41 [ERROR] WSREP: wsrep_load(/usr/lib/libgalera_smm.so) failed: Invalid argument (22). Reverting to no provider.
...

This is due to the following package:
percona-xtradb-cluster-galera-3.x 3.20-2.trusty

If I downgrade that package to 3.17-1.trusty bootstrapping works fine.

Upgrading to version 3.20-2.trusty breaks existing clusters which is a serious issue.

This issue first occurred with percona-xtradb-cluster-galera-3.x 3.19-1.trusty.

current workaround is documented here: https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-xtradb-cluster/5.5/installation.html

For Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty) percona-xtradb-cluster-galera-2.x will have to be specified with the meta package so the installation command should look like:

$ sudo apt-get install percona-xtradb-cluster-55 percona-xtradb-cluster-galera-2.x

Thanks for the update and the workaround. I'll give it a try in our testing environment. Any chance this get resolved with the percona-xtradb-cluster-galera-3.x package?

Was just hit by this bug. Only whilst upgrading from:
percona-xtradb-cluster-galera-3.x 3.17-1.trusty > 3.28-1.trusty

Downgrading resolved the issue.
