The new feature, "Multiple Files Renaming" of Gnome 3.22 on UbuntuGNOME 17.04 was gone.

The Batch Rename feature was introduced in nautilus 3.22 but Ubuntu GNOME 17.04 includes nautilus 3.20. It's likely that the next version of Ubuntu (17.10) will include at least nautilus 3.24.
