Bug Description

Writing a text and dividing it by lines by hitting enter doesn't set a good vertical spacing, the text is all messed up. Only the first line is changed after trying to correct it manually.
Attached image shows an example of what happens first, this is after opening a new window, no previous configuration.

You might try clicking on the question mark button when typing new text. If that doesn't help, chime back.

At first it wouldn't click (I had all the text selected and the button wouldn't work), but then after I unselected it it let me do it, though I'm not able to redo it now. Still, even after that when I try to adjust the height it just does it to the first line.

P.S.: And even still, after I tried and created another text it wouldn't let me change it. I can click on it before creating the text, but that doesn't change the result.

Thanks for the picture.

I'd check the text orientation. It looks like the anchor is on the left side. I can't see the entire screen on your latest picture, but I'll show you a screenshot of my Inkscape.

This bug is also present in the version of Inkscape shipped with Linux Mint 19.1 (not tested in 19.0, but it was fine in 18.3). I can confirm that both changing the line spacing settings (the interface for that has been changed since the version in Mint 18.3) and clicking the question mark button only affects the first line.

In the old version, everything with regard to line spacing worked just fine.

If you select the lines or characters individually, they will adjust properly. It's only if multiple lines are selected that the first selected line is used.

If you are looking for spacing whole lines, you're probably better off using the line spacing setting instead.
