Bug Description

Hello,

I am using the lastest version of cube-server on 14.04.5.
I downloaded some softwares like banshee, vlc etc. (Obviously after updating and downloading repositories)
The problem I am facing is while installation of the softwares, which happened in the previous version also. (but didn't paid much attention then)

First I update the System with new repositories.
Then I update the outdated packages.
Now,
Suppose I go forward to install VLC, or banshee (I know they depend on repositories), some fast text (commands) appears on terminal and without WARNING gets exit within seconds. (I know it should take more time for full installation)
It just gets stuck up some place, however I can't tell because the commands are fast in terminal and exit ASAP.

BUT WHEN I CHANGE THE SETTINGS TO dpkg (as installer)
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
The software installs successfully taking time(which it must take)

So why apt-get might be failing to install softwares?

PS : love the new developments and features on the NEW-VERSION of cube-server.

Hello and thank you for sending your problem.

This problem will most likely occur if apt-get detects that there are still packages that needs to be downloaded (this also includes the recommended packages for that application). It will automatically close, and it seems that cube-server was not able to display the error to you.

dpkg, unlike apt-get, is less strict, and will allow installation if the downloaded packages are enough to install your application.

You can check the installation logs in this file. Please send the output also to us to help you more in this issue.
\usr\share\cube-system\data\temp\install-log.txt

Sorry for the inconvenience, and we will try our best to fix the issue.
Thank you also for the feedback :) Much appreciated!

quickfix would be to change the installation settings on your offline system:
 1. Go To Settings
  2. Change the Default Installer to dpkg
   3. Hit the green Save button

that worked for me at least
