A bunch of text goes missing sporadically.

Almost every application is missing all or some characters rendering to screen. I see it in most consoles, dialogs, and the upper right hand calendar. Sometimes closing and reopening fixes it.

This may be happening after close and reopen as I don't remember seeing this happen right after starting up the laptop.

May or may not be the same as the icons disappearing bug that happens in 4.4. I updated again hoping that it would be fixed but it isn't!!

Seems it never happens on 4.2 so it is likely the Linux version issue.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty) reached end-of-life on April 25,2019.
