Text entry tool not snapping

Bug Description
1. open new project
2. place guides on x & y axis
3. set guides to have a large snap distance
4. select create text objects
5. click near guide intersection (within snap distance)
actual result:
- text is entered at point of click
expected result:
- text is entered at intersection of guides
Subsequently moving the text will cause it to snap to
the guide as expected.
Inkscape version 0.43 on Windows XP Pro.

this is actually a feature request, as the intended
behaviour at the moment is that only the selection tool
(arrow) does snapping, not the text tool.
