Bug Description

Earlier today after update Ubuntu can't suspend.

When I suspend the power button blink like it's suspended, but when I try waking it up it boots from start. (It shows me bios password, then grub...). It used to work fine.

It used to happen randomly but now it doesn't suspend at all. I always know if it shows me the bios password it will boot from scratch.

Laptop is Hp Envy x360

note that hibernation works flawlessly. Very strange that it doesn't suspend but it can hibernate

I think the real but is the bios thing. Whenever it shows me bios password it boots from scratch instead of waking up.

It'd be helpful to know what release of Ubuntu you are running along with things like the version of systemd. Please run apport-collect 1670290 in a terminal so that information can be added automatically.

apport-collect kept throwing exceptions and errors, took me about 5 times to get it right.

anyways it showed me a message that "I've modified systemd" & it said it would include it in the report. But note that I didn't do anything to systemd. Not "me", maybe something I installed.

Is the information sufficient? Anything else I need to provide? thx Brian

how do we mention people here? XD
