Bug Description

Please, drop the dependency from nautilus on libunity9. There is no need for it and it unfairly forces non-Unity users to have Unity packages installed. If there is a reason for it, create nautilus-unity and manage it there. Or downgrade the dependency to recommended or suggested.

This is intentional and it is not easily split out into a separate package.

So unless you can propose a patch to do this while not regressing Nautilus' behavior for Unity users, this isn't really something we're interested in.

libunity is a small library and doesn't seem to cause any problems for users of other desktops.

Thanks for the analysis. See also more background in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/1669997 So a nautilus-unity packages could host the Unity specific part.
