Bug Description

When tryng to change the text in an already entered
line, when clicking 'apply' the wole line of text
collapses to a small square that can't be resized.
Clicking on this box makes it disappear and be replaced
by a very long vertical dotted line. Only happens on a
few documents. The attached example has just the
central protion as real text, the bottom rh corner is
text converted to paths.

Works for me. Please be more precise: what exactly you are
doing and how, step by step, and in which Inkscape version.

With the example attached, select the text in the centre,
then open the editing window and add the word 'again'. Click
on 'Apply'. The whole line of text disappears. Not *all*
documents do this, I don't know what is special about this
one, that is why I attached it. For some reason, the editing
window also seems to be slow to open.

I'm using v 0.42.2 on Mdk 10.1

Indeed, this is a bug in 0.42, but it works fine in latest
CVS. So I assume this got fixed since then.
