When I tried to update my software it stopped and updating php7.0 and stopped responding.

Hello and thank you for filing this bug report. Did you perform this update using a GUI interface (e.g., update-manager)?

If so, please perform the update via `apt update; apt full-upgrade` at a terminal. We have had multiple reports of this issue and I think it's actually a problem in update-manager.
