Bug Description

The KDE PIM plugin for Plasma calendar, which was (re-)introduced in Plasma 5.7 is missing in Kubuntu versions up to 17.04 (Zesty) Alpha 2, including Plasma 5.8 in Kubuntu Backports for Xenial, as well as Yakkety and Backports for Yakkety. This plugin allows events from KDE PIM to be shown in the default Plasma calendar. In other distributions/repositories, such as in KDE Neon, it is provided by the kdepim-addons package.

Please fix this soon. Calendar widget showing events is extremely useful for work.

There's got to be a lot of affected users who just think that this is a missing feature in Plasma 5, so they don't know to complain about a missing plugin.

the PIM event plugin is missing in 17.04 final. As this is an advertised feature of KDE, there sould be an update to kdepim-addons.

Will be coming soon in backports for 17.04, as just missed getting that into Zesty for release day.

When will this be available i.e. in Kubuntu?
It seems to work already with self build versions. See:
