Bug Description
1) Ubuntu release: Yakkety Yak
2) v1.6.2-0ubuntu3
3) Expected more recent version of synergy, e.g. v1.8.x
4) Got an outdated version of v1.6.2 which doesn't support SSL connections
I asked about upgrading the version of Synergy and was told to create a bug:
https:/
The package for synergy is currently 1.6.2, but the current version of synergy is 1.8.6. Synergy 1.7 introduced SSL connections between client and server, greatly enhancing the security of Synergy. Users running v1.7+ on their other OSes must turn off SSL in order to work with version 1.6.2.
The introduction of SSL introduced in v1.7 a lot of problems that have been addressed in v1.8.
Here are the most relevant Bug/Security/
