Bug Description

When I close the laptop lid, the laptop appears to suspend, but when I open it again, the power light comes on, but nothing else. The caps lock light won't go on, and the laptop restarts after about 20 seconds.

Laptop: Dell XPS 9350
This happened on 16.04.1 with kernel 4.4, but upgrading the kernel with linux-generic-hwe-16.04-edge to 4.8 hasn't helped:

There was a remaining upgrade of some apport packages, and I think this has fixed the issue now.

I have same problem on notebook HP650. But only with HWE kernel and Xorg. Sometimes wakeup of system is crashed (freeze).

Generic kernel 4.4 work without problem.

upgrade to HWE by:
"sudo apt-get install --install-recommends xserver-xorg-16.04"
