crash during installation of lubuntu, had the same problem in debian, there i was able to start a shell during installaion and add the appropriate driver for an nvme ssd

The driver/firmware for the latest 'nvme' solid state drives is not in the live dvd.
I have found a workaround to install lubuntu on my system:
booted from the live dvd
ran "Software Updater" from the menu
ran the installer again.
that worked for me.
Lubuntu works like a charm now!
