Opening LibreOffice Writer window on Low DPI Display may Freeze

Occasionally opening an addtional LibreOffice Writer window using File - Recent Documents on a low DPI display in a HiDPI system may freeze gnome-shell

This was not possible at all prior to 3.22.2-1ubuntu1~ubuntu16.10.1 but similar problems still remain, just less frequently

GNOME shell has to be restarted using
systemctl restart lightdm.service
