Unread count should not report messages that are marked as read

Bug Description
With gmail, there is the option to filter messages automatically. I have a few filters to automatically mark some messages as "read".
When Mail retrieves these messages the message view treats them as "read", but I still get a number badge on the icon and also the badge attached to the mail account name is shown.
The expected behaviour is that the message appears in the message view, but no badges are updated.
