The original fix (at least I think it was the original fix, there might have been an intermediate attempt as well) simply pretended the output was premultiplied, instead of fixing the compositing operation. This caused further problems (as in bug #167032), so I now fixed the compositing operation.

The related bugs sound like they are the same issue, and as I can not reproduce any gray borders any more (specifically I tried 047_test.svg from bug#475882), and bug #167032 is fixed as well, I have marked them all as duplicates of this bug and marked this Fix Committed. (Note that bug #167032 had priority high.)

This bug still exists in version "Inkscape 0.91 r13725" on Ubuntu 16.04 with "libcairo2 1.14.6-1".
The image I used overlaps the document, so there shouldn't be a border around it.
But as you can see on the screenshot I took, there is a bright border three pixels thick.

Please fix this, it's so annoying.

The bug still exists in version 0.91 for Windows. It can be circumvented by making the background color non-tranpsarent.
