Logging out of the unity8 session snap takes a long time or sometimes hangs endlessly

I believe @mterry and I were looking at this in The Hague (but put it on the back burner since). I don't think its specific to snaps and may be an issue with LightDM. Stay tuned...

AFAIK the long delay on logout is unity8 dumping core (bug 1535297). Can you provide your unity8.log from when the delay occurred? Or reproduce the bug and provide the log here?

That is an old log but it has a backtrace. Oddly I dont see any logs for today in .cache/upstart

Thanks. Your unity8.log instantly confirms this is bug 1535297. So the delay is the dumping of core and/or doing a crash report.
