Bug Description
0.32 seems to have trouble rendering my 2-byte TrueType
Unicode fonts. They appear as the invalid "box" glyphs.
I'm running RedHat 8 using:
sodipodi-
freetype-2.1.2-7
fontconfig-2.0-3
Xft-2.0-4
pango-1.1.1-1
gtk2-2.0.6-8
XFree86-
Is this a known problem?
I'd love to dig in and help find the problem, but my
TK+ experience predates 2.x, and I haven't dealt with
fonts. Any pointers on where to start?

Does any unicode font render? If unsure, you may google
for
cyberbit.zip - it contains bitstream cyberbit, that is known
to
work for me (at least for CJK).
If Xft fonts are ever shown in font selector, they are
properly
found and fed to FreeType library. The actual code for this is
in libnrtype/
Feel free to ask from sodipodi list for more help.

Ok, that should probably read "Any pointers on where to
start, in addition to the obvious (gtk.org & pango.org)"

On Unix this has already been fixed in 0.36.
On Win32 this is still a problem (tested with prebuilt CVS
binaries dated 040313).
