i need python 3.5, so i used

update-alternatives --remove python /usr/bin/python2
update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/python python /usr/bin/python3 1

from there many python apps have problems to install (so i have to revert back to python 2 momentarily for installing)

A solution would be to specify which python version to use during installation by apt

mangling /usr/bin/python is very much not supported. Besides, you must have done something trickier as the /usr/bin/python file is not handled by alternatives..
