It works fine in my case using Pinta 1.7.232-development from https://pinta-project.com/pintaproject/pinta/builds on Windows 7, but as I remember nothing has really changed in text area for very long time.

Text align is only reasonable to be used with multiline. Do the following test:
1. Type some text.
2. Press Enter
3. Type some more text in second row.
4. Change text align to Center or Right.

If this is not working then please provide additional info what is your Pinta version (from Help | About menu) and operating system name/version?
Please also write what exactly do you see with above steps.

I tried to align multi-line text, and second line is aligned.
But I want to align single-line text as I do in Paint.NET.
It is aligned according to mouse click anchor.

I'm using version 1.6 from stable builds on Ubuntu 16.04.

@Mikhail,
I don't use Paint.NET so much, but can you really align one single line only? I could not reproduce that.

But I can see different behavior with anchoring between Paint.NET and Pinta. I don't know if this is really a bug in Pinta, in my humble opinion this two products just works differently. I like anchoring in Pinta, it looks to me more natural but this is personal taste.

I have recorded short video to display the difference between this two products. Lets developers decide if this is a bug or feature request.
