Bug Description
Qarte 3.5.0 dmo package for debian testing
Qarte crashes with the following error:
eikelan@lxcl01:~$ qarte
inotify_
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "/usr/share/

File "/usr/share/

UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character '\u2019' in position 412: ordinal not in range(128)

eikelan@lxcl01:~$ python --version
Python 2.7.13rc1
I deleted ~/.qarte and it lets me setup Qrte again but as soon as I hit the "close" button it crashes.
It does not matter if I chose French or German
This is on a Debian testing system with all recent updates
Weird: On a Debian Sid (unstable) system Qarte is stable - works OK even with the very same version of Python 2.7.13rc1.
The Sid-system is installd within a VirtualBox instance on the same hardware as the Debian testing system.
I found this but my expertise is not into Python programming, so I don't know how to implement it.

What can I do to debug this further?
Cheers
Eike
Hi,
Hum, Qarte 3 need Python 3.3 or higher.
