Thank you for your bug report.
I successfully installed pingus on a fresh i386 Gutsy box. Did you upgrade from Feisty?

Yes, I upgraded from Feisty.

With synaptic I can see, on package properties, that the available updated package has version 0.7.2-1~feisty1 and it comes from feisty-backports repository. It's odd, I should not have feisty repositories.

Here is the problem: Feisty has a backported version of pingus (version 0.7.2-1~feisty1 from bug #144682) which is greater than the one in Gutsy (0.7.1-1). During dist-upgrade, 0.7.2-1~feisty1 is kept but it depends on older libboost-signals1.33.1, which is not in Gutsy.

Changed in pingus:

status: Incomplete → Triaged
