Bug Description

Starting with 16.10 Thunderbirds startup time became agonizingly slow
From less than 3 seconds (to the blank window) and less than 7 seconds (to accepting input)
to 17 seconds (blank window) and 28 seconds (to accepting input)
[same machine, same plugins]

Now, with the update to 45.5.1 sending an email increase the time from pressing send to the disappearance of the window from 1 second to more than 9 seconds (on average).

Hello Wolf,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with slow performance in Thunderbird. You made this bug report in 2016 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to this bug?
If you are, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.
G

Changed in thunderbird (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

please can you add simply close? I do not know if someone fixed the bug.

To resolve the problem I deleted configuration files and I reconfigure
thunderbird with a minimal set of accounts.

thank you for your work.

best

Thanks for the update, Marco. I usually use "invalid" to close the tickets. There is no "closed" option.
