Bug Description

The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem regarding hardinfo. This problem was most recently seen with package version 0.5.1-1.4ubuntu1, the problem page at https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/8774685399a11d89ee0ac7b05c376ef5bad5f7b6 contains more details, including versions of packages affected, stacktrace or traceback, and individual crash reports.

As of Ubuntu 17.10 there is a much newer package available with many fixes and improvements. Please try it and see if the issue is resolved.
