KMail message list font and size unchangeable

start KMail
Click on Settings->KMail->Appearance->Fonts
Choose "Message LIst" in combo box then change nothing but the point size then Apply nothing happens

Try selecting any of the other Message List entries in the combo box and you will see making changes to them is greyed out. While changing the base Font for Message List appears to have some impact, changing the point size has none.

click Settings->KMail->Appearance->Message List
click configure button next to Default theme:
click Clone Theme
click Advanced
significantly increase pixel size
click OK
Be sure to select your new theme in combo box.
Click Apply then OK

Notice the slot for the message increases in size but the font is point size is basically unchanged.
