Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I downloaded the new beta Firefox from Mozilla (firefox-3.0b1.tar.bz2) and installed it to /opt. I ran it only a short while, less than a minute, and it went crazy on me. My hard drive thrashed as it filled about 500 megs of swap file before I could kill -15 it. I had to go to a virtual terminal to get a command line to even use my computer it had purged all my buffers making the GUI impossible to use. I was on maybe three popular web pages. This doesn't seem like rational behaviour at all.

Disclaimer: I realise this isn't specifically Ubuntu related as it's not a supported package, but after googling briefly this was the only place I could find to report my bug.
