Bug Description
If you have multiple NICs either built into the motherboard or installed via add-in cards, the applet does not provide any distinguishing name/ characteristics to enable a user to identify which of the NICs they're trying to configure - all wired NICs are simply presented as "Wired Connection". This makes for a very frustrating time where more than one NIC is in use and needs to be configured and generally involves a process of elimination until one guesses which NIC is presented 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc in the list of NICS. To address the issue, why not include the NIC's hardware descriptor in the list eg. in one of my PCs I have an add-in SMC NIC and an on board Intel NIC. Looking at hardware info it is clear Ubuntu can identify the nics by manufacturer - why not carry that info through to the applet so that users can easily determine which NIC it is they're wanting to configure.
