I'm using

4.8.0-26-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 18 14:39:52 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Description: Ubuntu 16.10
Release: 16.10

unity:

I seem to have a memory leak. unity-panel-service is using 7.9 GiB of ram.

I'm not sure what else to report.

Are you by chance running owncloud client, or any other qt5 app creating an indicator in the top panel ?

If yes, this is probably a dupe of #1635577 ...

Gilles, I am not running owncloud. Default Ubuntu pretty much, I don't think (know) if there are any qt5 apps. I have chromium running. I use cron to to some btrfs things.

unity-panel-service now using 11.3 GiB of RAM.

OS: Ubuntu 16.10, Kernel: 4.8.0-26-generic (x86_64), Desktop: Unity 7.5.0, Display Server: X Server 1.18.4, Display Driver: modesetting 1.18.4, OpenGL: 4.1 Mesa 12.0.3 Gallium 0.4, Compiler: GCC 6.2.0 20161005, File-System: ext4, Screen Resolution: 3840x1080

I can do any tests you want.
