Bug Description

(Ubuntu Gnome 16.10)

Recently after upgrading to 16.10 I have a frequent loss of DNS response for certain sites while browsing in Chrome. This occurs both after resuming from sleep or sometimes at other (seemingly) random times.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Browse sites in Chrome
2) A site will stop responding and DNS queries will timeout

There's not much more that I can add besides that, however the solution I've found might give some more information. I was digging around in the /etc/resolvconf files and found that running the script "/etc/resolvconf/update.d/libc" fixes the issue immediately, sometimes even before the script finishes executing. I've tried to read through the script but I'm not sure I really understand what's going on there.

To give an example of a recent case of this happening. I loaded politico.com, all the text and css loaded just fine, but every image was a dead link. Turns out the images were hosted at static2.politico.com. As soon as I ran the above script and reloaded the page, everything loaded just fine.

Another case, is upon waking from sleep often Gmail will load the most recent new e-mails and then when I go to click on one or try to respond, the interface will timeout and a reload will result in a DNS timeout until I run the above script.
