Bug Description
Krusader from Xenial package stil can't work with rar archives.
The rar5 support is added by developer many time ago

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Kubuntu since that time.
Using Kubuntu 24.04 I created a .rar file with RAR and successfully listed its contents with krusader 2.8.1. I was also able to view text files within that archive.
I'm closing this as 'Fix Released' although I appreciate maybe not fixed in the xenial release as you reported but some time later.
