Epiphany doubles first character typed on Facebook for any text box

Bug Description
The first character you type in any text box on Facebook, be it a comment, a post or a message in the messenger, gets doubled. All subsequent characters type without issue.
Running Epiphany v3.18.5, WebKit v2.12.5

Thanks for reporting this. This issue is being caused by upstream code and is being worked on here: https:/ /bugzilla. gnome.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 764653
The problem is that since the upstream development branch of Epiphany is 3.23, the changes won't land until then. However, even when they do, you might not be able to see them in elementary straight away. Since we're basing our distribution on Ubuntu repositories, we rely on them updating the necessary packages, like Gtk 3.23. This might not happen until at least 17.04, and since elementary is built on Ubuntu LTS, those packages might not even land until 18.04 for us.
We are looking towards solutions to mitigate this with solutions like Snap or Flatpak, however these are under heavy development and it might take a while until we are able to ship versions of Epiphany which do not depend on Ubuntu.
Long story short: you will have to use another browser to get around this or setup Flatpak and use it to install Epiphany 3.22 (and 3.23 when is released). I personally do the latter.
