Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

Twice now I've seen pidgin refuse to let me rejoin a channel. This happened just now in gutsy, and before in dapper (gaim).

E.g. right now I've got a channel "(#virt)" - I.e. I was connected to it, and got disconnected and the buffer is not
currently live.

I type "/j #virt" and nothing happens. Even if I delete the dead "(#virt)" tab and try joining again, nothing happens.

In both cases it seems to have happened after I got disconnected by freenode.
It resolved last time only when I exited gaim and restarted it.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10?
