Bug Description
Binary package hint: volume.app
Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon 7.10
GNOME Panel 2.20.0.1
Volume Applet 2.20.0 (Using GStreamer 0.10)
When using the Media Hotkeys on the keyboard to mute/unmute, the volume seems to adjust appropriately assuming the volume is muted for no more than a few minutes. Otherwise, when the volume is unmuted, the level remains at 0% and must be increased manually as opposed to the level being restored to its original setting prior to mute.

A little additional information: Further experimentation yielded that this occurs anytime the volume indicator disappears. If the volume is unmuted before the OSD disappears, the volume will restore. Afterwards, as described above, the volume is set to 0% each time and must then be increased manually.
