No colour applied to notes

This is similar to #1019380, only this time all the notes are white with black text.

My affected system is Ubuntu MATE 16.10 amd64, using the Xenial Stickynotes .deb package. Ubuntu MATE 16.04 was not affected, however.

I confirm this bug (all the notes with white background) on Ubuntu 16.10 with 0.5.8-0~ppa1 version

I'm using the ARC-Dark theme. Indicator StickyNotes is following the system theme, not my settings.

yes ubuntu gnome 17.04. sticky has white backgroud and blacktext. does not change colour i apply in sticky note settings

I have the same issue on ubuntu 17.04. Color do not applies to notes.

I'm very frustrated that GTK has focused so much on CSS but things break between GTK versions. I fixed the css for this and it works for me now. I'll upload a new version shortly. Sorry for the incredibly long delay with this.
