Bug Description
The classical file transfer client (ftp) package should default to binary transfer mode.
It's not the 1990s anymore, and when large files are transferred such as zips, rars, .7z, .exe, etc, you must specify that you want binary transfer mode or else the downloads will be corrupted since it's trying to download files in ASCII mode by default.
Everything will transfer byte for byte using binary mode, so what is the purpose of ASCII? Let's default to binary instead and force changing to mode ASCII if anyone wants that... which most people won't.
