Bug Description

A few days ago, my wireless stopped working. Dmesg showed the following:

[ 4.499602] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: Direct firmware load for iwlwifi-7260-17.ucode failed with error -2
[ 4.507101] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: loaded firmware version 16.242414.0 op_mode iwlmvm
[ 4.579437] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: Detected Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 7260, REV=0x144
[ 4.581116] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: L1 Enabled - LTR Enabled
[ 4.581429] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: RF_KILL bit toggled to disable radio.
[ 4.581457] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: L1 Enabled - LTR Enabled
[ 9.584554] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: Failed to load firmware chunk!
[ 9.584558] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: Could not load the [0] uCode section
[ 9.584567] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: Failed to start INIT ucode: -110
[ 9.584965] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: Failed to run INIT ucode: -110
[ 9.585041] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: L1 Enabled - LTR Enabled

Toggling the kill-switch did not enable the wifi.

It seems that the problem is fixed by installing the latest version of the firmware by downloading
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/OpenELEC/iwlwifi-firmware/master/firmware/iwlwifi-7260-17.ucode

and placing it within /lib/firmware

modprobe -r iwlwifi

and

modprobe iwlwifi

resulted in the following dmesg-logs:
