Bug Description

I use Ubuntu 7.10
When I put a file with new repository in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ ,aptitude not recognize this new repository.

In detail, the name of file must content the "ñ" letter. In my case, i try add the file treviño.list.
If I make a trevino.list it's all ok, but no treviño.list.

I can confirm this behaviour. Files that include non-ascii characters are ignore when "sudo apt-get update" is executed. After changing the filename to just ascii characters the file is included.

Quoting sources.list(5): "File names need to end with .list and may only contain letters (a-z and A-Z), digits (0-9), underscore (_), hyphen (-) and period (.) characters." -- NOT A BUG

Changed in apt (Ubuntu):
status: Confirmed → Invalid
