Bug Description
I was unable to hear any sound even though I played a lot of stuff in my Ubuntu machine. I tried re installing alsa and other things as described in various forums, but none of them worked for me. Can anyone please help me in getting rid of this?

Could you report this bug again using the command `ubuntu-bug alsa` in Terminal? Might contain more useful logs for the people to see what's going on :)
