Bug Description

Looks like unattended-upgrades failed?

I just ran the update again and it installed an altered config file.

#> apt-get install ntpdate
Setting up ntpdate (1:4.2.6.p5+dfsg-3ubuntu2.14.04.10) ...

Hi,
thank you for your report.

I didn't see anything that would give me a hint - adding unattended-upgrades in case they could see something in the logs. For sure they have more experience in how it should behave properly.

It looks to me that this is either a bug in unattended-upgrades, or intended behaviour that due to the conffile prompt unattended-upgrades is supposed to fail and requires user intervention to answer the prompt. I'm not sure which.

This was a bug in u-u but it is fixed since 0.86, see Debian's bug for details.
