Bug Description

A few days ago I downloaded Pipelight Version 0.2.8 for OpenSUSE 13.2 (64-bit) and installed it on my Lenovo X201 notebook computer. I am using Mozillia Firefox 49 that was included with OpenSUSE 13.2 distrib. I had a problem with running Pipelight, which it could not find the following library files:

libnetapi.so: missing
libodbc.so: missing

in both the /usr/lib and /usr/lib64 directories. I temporary fixed this problem by symbol linking the real existing library file names as /usr/lib/libnetapi.so, /usr/lib/libodbc.so, /usr/lib64/libnetapi.so and /usr/libodbc.so and then Pipelight could find them.

Could you correct this miss named problem in future releases of Pipelight for OpenSUSE 13.x?

Thank you,

David A. Smith

As stated in the FAQ, these libraries are not required to use any of the supported plugins. I did not explicitly disable those libraries during compile time, but you should use the official wine-(staging) builds for OpenSUSE if you are interested in a Wine version supporting these features. For Pipelight there is no real need to fix this.

Dear Michael and All Interested,

Thank you for your reply. Somehow my following text wasn't included in my email:

The main reason why I questioned these missing libraries is because I am having issues with both Shockwave, Flash and even Silverlight5.1 plugins with Firefox version 49.0, which came with the distribution of OpenSUSE 13.2. When I execute Firefox and all the wine extensions load, if I go to the https://tv.xfinity.com/listings web site and login to my account to watch streaming tv, I either get the first video frame frozen of the tv show playing on any tv channel on line or the attachment aapkodnjlaidpdhn.png of the screen display.

Now I have installed the User Agent Switcher add-in to Firefox and have it set to:

    Windows / Firefox 15.0: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120427 Firefox/15.0a1

The Firefox Extension Plugin menu shows in the attached files; dgneegbkaeljdkik.png, aooenkfdnlcibkhg.png and aocdfjghlijhafab.png screen displays.

Also, when I login to my https://www.netflex.com/watch/ account and try to watch a streaming video, the attached file eaoldlgjedooeip.png screen is display.

and yet the Silverlight 5.0 animation test web site; http://bubblemark.com/silverlight2.html works fine seen in the attached mphiilhlfdccbggd.png file screen display.

Do you have any ideas or suggestions for me to try because I would really appreciate it?

Thank you,

David A. Smith

Hi,

I am still having problems with pipelight version 0.28 for OpenSUSE 13.2 and Mozilla Firefox version 49.0 in Linux. The problem I am having is when I go to https://tv.xfinity.com/live/ and login to my account to watch any streaming videos, the first video frame is displayed but freezes. If I reload the current web page again, it either displays another single frame of the streaming video currently trying to play or tells me the following:

                                      Xfinity®

                              Flash compatibility issue

XFINITY® TV requires a more recent version of Flash (15.0.0.152+).

Please update to the latest version of Flash and ensure your browser is Flash compatible.

Download the latest version of Flash

I have my User Agent Override set to: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.1, which seems to be the closes setting that works. The Firefox Extension Plugin menu shows Shockwave Flash 23.0.r0, Silverlight Plug-In 5.1.41212.0, Unity Player 5.3.6f1 and Widevine Media Optimizer 6.0.0.12442 Always Enable.

Also, when I login to my https://www.netflex.com/watch/ account and try to watch a streaming video, the attached file; eaoldlgjedooeip.png screen is displayed.
