juju 2.0-rc1 client panic on OSX Sierra

I downloaded the listed release binary from: https://jujucharms.com/docs/stable/reference-releases

specifically: https://launchpad.net/juju/2.0/2.0-rc1/+download/juju-2.0-rc1-osx.tar.gz

After fetching and running:

sudo install juju /usr/local/bin/juju

i promptly attempted to check the version of juju installed on my system. Prompty after invoking juju --version, it stacktraced with a panic about "unknown series"

It appears that we may not have updated juju to be aware of the newly released Sierra flavor of MacOS.

:( This means bug 1465317 was *not* fixed in rc1, but the date of the bug reports that it was fixed on the 25th. Please rested with rc2. We need to know if bug 1465317 needs to be reopened.

I can confirm this is broken in rc1 and rc2, bug 1465317 was *not* fixed. I am keeping this bug specific to Sierra, but the master bug needs to be closed so that upgradng users never break.

This issue need to be fixed to put Juju in homebrew.
